Welcome to the Colon Cancer Channel
Colon cancer, which is the second leading cause of death from cancer in the United States, affects more men than women and occurs more commonly in people with certain inherited conditions (such as familial adenomatous polyposis). The disease occurs when cancerous cells first form in the tissues of the colon. It usually has no early signs. Treatment for colon cancer can include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy -- as well as medications to relieve pain (if pain is present).
Welcome to the Colon Cancer Health Channel by eMedTV. On this channel, you will find articles presenting a wide range of information about colon cancer. Whether you would like information about what foods you should eat as part of colon cancer treatment, how to seek follow-up care for colon cancer, or how to find support groups for people with the disease, we have the information you are looking for. This channel provides detailed information on colon cancer symptoms, risk factors, prevention, and alternative therapies -- as well as specific tests you should be given as part of regular colon cancer screening and how often you should undergo these tests.
