Nerve Problems With Eloxatin

Coping With Nerve Problems During Eloxatin Treatment

There are certain things you can do to help reduce some of the nerve-related side effects from Eloxatin. Because cold often makes nerve problems worse, many of the strategies involve avoiding cold temperatures. Some of these strategies include the following:

  • Wear warm clothing in cold weather and make sure your skin is covered when going outside. You can use scarves, gloves, and hats to help protect your skin from the cold. Also, cover your nose and mouth with a scarf to avoid breathing in cold air.

  • Do not drink cold beverages or use ice. Instead, drink liquids that are warmed or at room temperature.

  • Wear gloves to touch cold objects, such as things in the refrigerator or freezer.

  • Use a blanket to stay warm during your Eloxatin infusion.

  • If your body gets cold, try to warm up the cold areas.
