If you have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer, you may receive a chemotherapy medication called Stivarga® (regorafenib). This prescription medicine is specifically approved for treating colorectal cancer (cancer of the colon and rectum) that has spread to other areas of the body (metastasized) in adults. Stivarga is used when other treatment has been tried, but the disease progresses.
Stivarga is manufactured by Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, Inc. It is not available as a generic at this time due to certain patents. However, once these patents expire, companies may be allowed to make a generic version of Stivarga.
